The shadow ran toward nick again, quicker this time, preparing to slash nick with the arm blades.

Nick hopped a tad back, bracing for the impact, and holding the lance in both hands.

The Shadow then swung the blade and hit the lance, however, it spun using its other arm blade, aiming for nicks open side.

Nick's lance split in half, almost mechanically, guarding Nick's Open side, and clamping onto the shadow's claws. As the shadow's claws slid off the initial staff, Nick proceeded to pull the detachable part of his staff past him, dragging the shadow hit him, and Nick plunged the other part of his lance into the shadow's side.

The shadow, not feeling any pain, with no physical damage, pointed its claws toward nick, and all 10 of them launched toward him.

Nick's lance released the shadow, and reassembled, Nick managed to slash the claws down into the ground, and leap to an area away from the shadow to relax briefly. Nick released his lance, and instead called three odd spheres.

The claws however, started to move, with the movement of the shadows arms. The claws were connected to the shadow with spirit strings. The claws started spinning around the shadow to gain speed, and launched at nick again.

Nick pushed all the spheres out around the stadium, and began to dash around, avoiding the claws at every turn.

The shadow, while continuing it's attacks, analyzed nicks movements trying to find a pattern, or understand nicks movements more.

Nick smiled, and kept running, avoiding the claws. One sphere popped.

But suddenly the shadow jumped in front of nick, slashing him with one of it's arm blades.

Nicm sidestepped the shadow's attack, and kept running around. The second sphere popped.

The shadow then pulled one of its arm blades out using it as a regular sword watching nick circle him.
